The plant and mass production of lithium hydroxide under the brand name of Halmek Lithium was launched in 2016. Since then HALMEK LITHIUM has been producing battery-grade lithium hydroxide at its plant in the Tula region (200 km from Moscow, Russia) with a capacity of 11,000 tons per year. Not only does this plant have the capacity to manufacture lithium hydroxide from lithium carbonate offering regular sales, but it also provides conversion services. Being on the market for over eight years our company has gained credibility to be an official dealer of raw materials in the EV industry making its input in the transition towards green energy. Halmek Lithium is one of the main high-end battery-grade lithium hydroxide manufacturer in the European region.
In 2020 HALMEK LITHIUM launched an investment project to build its second hydrometallurgical plant on the territory of the UZLOVAYA SEZ (Special economic zone) also in the Tula region with a capacity of 20,000 tons per year of battery-grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate. The raw material for this greenfield plant will be spodumene concentrate. The project is currently under construction and the first production line is planned to launch in Q1 2024, and the second production line with a capacity of 20,000 tons is expected to start production in 2026.
